CHN has initiated the development of a 3-star 90 room hotel project at the Arent Krijtsstraat 1 in Diemen. The basic ingredients for success of the Hotel Diemen development are: shortage in hotel capacity in Amsterdam region, no hotel presence in community of Diemen (part of metropolitan area of Amsterdam) and a substantial vacancy of outdated office space on a central and visible location.
Together with FAB Architecture, our hotel development partner, and De Jager & Gravesteijn projecten, the real estate owners, we have designed a breathtaking landmark building. The hotel building designs show contrast and harmony between the redeveloped angular building and the elegant new organic building. The old and new buildings are connected by a transparent atrium. The hotel building was designed after an extensive study of the surroundings and neighbourhood.
We are currently preparing the building permit application. Project is expected to be completed in the end of 2008.

CHN has successfully supported the acquisition of Hotel New Amsterdam by Chic and Basic. Through this acquisition the new Catalan owners take the first step across Spanish borders. Hotel New Amsterdam is a 2-star hotel located in the centre of Amsterdam at the Herengracht 13-19. The hotel currently consists of 26 rooms including restaurant and an apartment building. The hotel is undergoing a complete makeover into the Chic and Basic hotel concept. CHN+ Partners has provided transaction services including financing to Chic and Basic.
Chic and Basic is a young, renewing and fast growing hotel chain from Spain. They like to introduce themselves in sale brochures and on the back of their business cards as follows:

CHN has successfully supported the acquisition of both the real estate and hotel operation of the Park Hotel in Amsterdam.
A consortium of foreign investors has acquired the Park Hotel real estate in Amsterdam. The 4-star hotel located in the centre of Amsterdam at the Stadhouderskade 25, 29 en Hobbemastraat 1-13. The hotel consists of 187 rooms, 5 conference rooms, restaurant, bar, 6 shops, 60 parking spaces and an office building. The hotel is currently undergoing a very extensive renovation and refurbishment.
In a separate transaction Grand City Hotels & Resorts has taken over the Park hotel operation from Le Meridien (Starwood hotels). Grand City Hotels & Resorts operates 19 hotels in 5 countries.
CHN+ Partners provided transaction services to the foreign investment consortium and fully managed the acquisition of the hotel operation on behalf of Grand City Hotels & Resort.
